Two Individuals Charged for Prison Murder of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder in the wake of the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.
Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 stand indicted for homicide and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.
Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was taken into custody following a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
