The England manager Criticizes Wembley Fan Atmosphere Despite Dominant Wales Victory.

The England head coach shared his sadness that the England team did not enjoy more encouragement from the Wembley crowd during their decisive triumph over Wales on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was pleased to see his team continue their good form, with strikes from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the initial stages deciding the match. But, he was displeased with the atmosphere at the national stadium.

“We had one and a half training days to prepare against a organized team and we performed excellently,” the coach remarked. “It could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We missed the additional goals. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get support back from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you give in the first quarter? We prevented them get away. If you hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s disappointing because the team earned better encouragement today.”

“I support this statement. There’s nothing more than being three goals up in a derby. I hoped for a greater backing in phases where it gets difficult.”

“In the second half, to support us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It could have helped us to regain energy, but that’s football and so be it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Display

Apart from potentially starting a dispute among supporters, the manager also created controversy by omitting Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. But the choice was justified by Rogers excelling in the attacking midfield role and scoring his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel explained. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is competing for his position.”

Bellamy Hopes for Improvement from Defeat

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that Wales, who host Belgium in a important World Cup qualifier on next week, learn from their disappointing performance in the opening period.

“This is why I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy said. “I need to see where we are. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? Today gives me inspiration.”

Injury Concern for Striker

Watkins was taken off at half-time after clattering into a goalpost and may miss out when the national team face their next opponents in the Latvian capital in a qualifier on next week.
