"That was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of the rookie. "He aims to be excellent."

Fields connected with Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to close the gap for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots closed out the win
